About Leif Wells

My name is Leif Wells and I am the Rich Internet Application Evangelist for Roundbox Global in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

My Background

I got started in the interactive industry in 1993 when I was selected to work in the IBM EduQuest CD-ROM project The Book of Shadowboxes with a team of experienced developers using Macromind Director 3. Before getting this position, I was stealing computer time from the Georgia State University's multimedia lab so that I could learn the software (special thanks to the library staff for never even asking if I was a student).

After the completion of the Macintosh version of The Book of Shadowboxes, I was put into the position of Lead Developer of the conversion of The Book of Shadowboxes for Windows 3.1, which in those days was no easy feat we needed to convert every animation in the project to Quicktime for Windows.

My next gig was with IBM again; I was the Technical Director for The 1994 IBM Interactive Annual Report. A three-CD-ROM, three-Operating System project, this project challenged me on every level.

I began freelancing in 1995 and continued through the Dot Com Boom and the Dot Com Bust. During that time I worked for companies like UPS, Home Depot, Georgia-Pacific, Coca-Cola, along with various agencies and studios in the Atlanta area.

In 2002, I became the Technical Director for Realm Communications where I continued to create interactive experiences for their clients.

I joined Roundbox Media in 2004 becoming their Director of Media Services.

In 2006 I was named the Rich Internet Application Evangelist for Roundbox Global.
